Ikea updates: Drawers

Warning: my underwear will be shown, unfortunately there was no nice way around it.

I bought the SKUBB box set at Ikea, in an attempt to sort out my drwaers. I absolutely love the results!

Tights: I sorted all my skin and coloured tights into one container, leaving my ridiculous amount of black tights to remain free. Oh god I need to get rid of some of those.

Socks: I literally got rid of about 15 pairs of socks during this process. I had way too many, bordering on hoarder levels. I now how black and white socks easily sorted, with a section for sports socks, and then the large container of random goodies. I eventually will sort these out even more, but for now I know where to grab and that's all that matters.

Ah-hem.... I in no way this this is a glamorous shot. I really think This is probably too much in formation for the internet, but here goes. I never have enough room for bars and undies, because I am such a sock and tights collector. This way I have all my undies shoved in one container, and my bras and placed nicely, with minimal damage in the larger section.

All in all I am pretty happy with my organisation!

Ikea updates: Shoes

I recently went a little Ikea crazy, so prepare for a week of updates. Firstly I was sick of how my shoes were stored. The shoe rack I had was too big for my size six shoes, and they constantly slipped through. I went to Ikea and bought the SKUBB shoe boxes and SKUBB hanging organizer, both of which are great value for money. The only downside to the shoe boxes is they limit the heel height which you can put in them. So I wont be getting more. I love my shoe organizer though, It really does make such a difference. I have just hung it on the back of my wardrobe door, which is not in the way at all. I have taken in an old bookshelf for the rest of shoes, which will hopefully get a face lift soon - so stay tuned!

Daiso Haul

A little while ago now I packed a delicious lunch for work, but forgot something pretty important, the fork to eat it with. Because of this I thought I would pop to Daiso to get one, and of course that turned into a mini haul. I could have gone crazy, but I only stepped in two isles, and avoided the make up section all together.

I picked up two lunch boxes, in my go to colour green, two cutlery sets (with a spoon, fork and chopsticks), and a spoon and fork with a hello kitty design. Excuse the dirty fork, that was the one I used on my lunch.

I also picked up some stickers, but you will see those in my Japan scrapbook.

I love Daiso, and know it will forever be my go to source for home wares, stickers and cheap food. Next I need to try their make up brushes, I have heard good things!'

Brand Blurb: Secret Blossom

I just wanted to give a quick shout out to Secret Blossom. I order a 3 months subscription as a gift for my mum, and so far so good. This is the first bunch (of 6) to come, and it really is beautiful. It was hand delivered, which I though was cute, and the hand written card was a nice touch.

If you think someone has everything - get them flowers, nothing makes you feel more special!

Japan Scrap Book: Update #1

Book: Now that the design process has started I have to actually say I regret this. But anyway, it is what it is. I though that using this vintage Japanese cook book would be a cool way to show off my photos, but I am left with very busy photos. We will see how it turns out though!

Sticky note it: After I have to book sorted, an before printing, I sticky note each page. That way I have an idea of how many photos to print, and how my book will be structured.

Envelopes: Finally, after printing my photos, I envelope them up. That way as I work though each page they stay sported.

More pictures coming soon :)

Dotti Haul

This is a quick post, as I managed to escape with just 3 items.

I bought this beautiful wide brimmed felt hat, which, although is a little bit big for my pea head, I love. I also nabbed A 3/4 length multi-stripe top, and these thick gingham print pants. A nice monochromatic outfit in the making. All I need to add is ankle boots and a chunk necklace!

Sticky9

I was lucky enough to win a competition on A Beautiful Mess about 2 weeks ago, the prize being free magnets from Sticky9. They sent me 9 free magnets, which included free shipping, as all their orders do. Sticky9, formerly StickyGram, is a instagram printing service, with their main item being the magnets.

The magnets come joined together, and you just have to gently break them apart, which is easily done. You are left with 9 personalized magnets, that are about 'life size' from an average phone. You can also order bigger sizes, which is a new feature, or have one large image as a puzzle.

All in all I am very pleased with my prize, and can tell I will be buying myself some more in the future.

Sukin Haul

I picked up these two products from Priceline the other day, and they are the first ever from Sukin I have tried. So far, with only one use each, I do like them. The shampoo left my hair really shiney and clean, however it did feel odd in the shower. It seemed to leave a sticky residue on my hair, although my hair looked fine once dry. The cream cleanser worked well, and smelt lovely.

I will continue to try out these products and let you know how I get on.

Sickness

I was feeling pretty rubbish.... ;)

I had the flu last week, and it totally screwed me over. I had to stay home from uni and work, meaning I got behind on everything. Once you are behind it is really difficult to catch back up, which is frustrating.

Once I get behind, I get stressed, and I am talking major stress. My response to stress? Stay at home, thus getting more behind.

It is a good system... not. But I am all about self-help and change, so writing this short post will hopefully encourage me to move forward! Yes I have a lot on my plate right now, but that is what being successful is all about!

How do you cope with post-sickness stress?

Thoughts.

Life is a puzzle, or something like that.

Something that has been circling the blog and tumblr community is allegations against high profile YouTube members.

A lot of people have been talking about how they were in manipulative relationships, and there has been talk of victim blaming if anyone speaks out in defense.

Now I in no way condone abusive relationships, whether it be physically, emotionally, verbally, or in any other form you can think of. However I think this whole 'posting your past experience as a victim' online is incredibly damaging for everyone involved.

Now, I myself have experienced some pretty horrible things, several instances of sexual assault being one of them, yet as I said before, no one will gain anything from me posting about it here.

When people go though something terrible it is good to have support from those around us, but nothing is black and white, so not one can really be labeled a monster from one instance.

I know that when I went through all of these bad time, I was in a bad place myself. I sometimes attempted to stop the situation, other times I did not. There are times where I think the perpetrator knew what they were doing, and times they did not.

I think the real issue, with recent even at least, is about learning to stand up for yourself. I don't mean that in a 'post a tell-all on the internet' kind of way, but in the moment, when someone does something bad, stop it.

This is not always the case I know, and it took me a long time to get to where I am today, which is still pretty quite when it comes to demanding what I want.

People need to know that we need to leave these subjects to the FBI. I don't care who touched who, or what the circumstances are, but just keep the information to yourself.

Yes tell people about how they can prevent situations like this from occurring, or how to get out of an abusive relationship, but do not go naming and shaming. These people, the 'perpetrators' are sometimes just as fucked up as the victims. They have no right to do what they may or may not have done, but remember that we all live in a society where we are innocent until proven guilty.

You can not judge someone, and it is your duty as a human not to. Yes some people have to judge and label other for their job (judges for example... yeah.) But the rest of us do not need to give our two cents worth. I am so sick of reading so much about other peoples lives all the time, and people saying they should be 'burnt alive' because of all the terrible, although not yet proven, things they have done.

I don't even know if that made sense at all, but after a sleepless night due to anxiety, I just want to yell at the world to shut up. I don't want to judge you, I don't want to be judged, and I want to just sit at home and believe that YouTube is safe place. That may be naive, but being the emotional wreck that I am, I can not handle other peoples problems. At least not far away internet people.

SPOILER ALERT: Lego Movie Review

The Lego movie has received so much hype, I swear every single person in the universe is going to see it. That being said, is it actually any good?

I did really enjoy most of this movie, it had comedy, action, a never ending catchy tune to listen to, but it went very weird toward the end.

I don't know why I thought there wouldn't be some sappy 'learn this moral in a few sappy scenes' parts, but I think they went a bit far.

I am sure they were almost trying to parody how ridiculous it was, but I pretty much hated the entire live action part of the film. I do not think it was necessary, it ruined the film. I also took a fictional world and tried to make it real-life, which did not work. If you are going to go live action, you can't then have a little Lego man bouncing around on a table.

What did you guys think of the film?

Random Haul

I was lucky enough to be gifted thes for free by my parents. Thank you parents! My mum gave me this Rimmel  Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer, which she thought as the brown colour repackaged in blue. Oh mum, so cute. That meant I scored a free blue eyeliner. I'm not sure what eye look I will use it for, as imam very much into neutrals, but it may be nice of pop of colour for my bottom lash line.

The second free I scored was this Cosmopolitan magazine from a friend, as she accidentally bought two. Now I haven't read a women's magazine other than Frankish in quite some time, and I have to say I wasn't much if a fan. Every second page was filled with sex advice, or how to look your uniqueness and become a drone. Considering the person I got this off was only 16, I was pretty shocked. I know plenty of people love reading that sort of stuff, and I do like a bit of self help, be illustrations of a fully faced, sweat free sex goddess is not really setting realistic expectations. I did occasionally laugh though, so it's not all bad.

Finally there is this Lowepro Camera Case which now houses my Canon EOS 60D. Being the clumsy and forgetful person I am, and I am very clumsy, a camera case was a must. I cNt say too much as it hasn't left the house with me yet (only when my dad took my camera overseas), but so far it has done a good job of being a camera bag. Side note, this is $7 or so cheaper at Teds Camera's than other stores it is sold at.

That is all for today kids, I hope your week is has been awesome so far :)

I have finally printed my Japan photos! It only took me 3 months....

I am writing this post to say I will do updates on how the scrapbook is coming along. I have made a promise to myself that I must get it done before I go to America. I can not have two trips back logged with photos!

I hope you guys don't mind seeing craft posts more frequently, I am and avid crafter at heart!

Staying Organised

Homework has been getting the better of me lately. I don't have that much to do, but combining it with two part jobs, this blog, cooking, cleaning, and trying to have a life, is pretty darn difficult.

Some people will hate this, but in order to get things done I literally need to plan my days off with an hourly tracker. I don't necessarily stick to it completely, but I can allocate how much time I can really afford to spend on my blog. I know I could post every third day, or even just once a week if I wanted to. But I have too many ideas to shared. Plus posting every day of the weeks makes me feel more accomplished. Even if no one ever truly reads this blog, at least it will slowly improve my writing, or prepare me for the tight and constant writing deadlines I will hopefully have with my future career.

How do you stay organised?

Happy Birthday Mum!

Even thought she is over seas so I cant see her today, I would like to wish my mum a massive HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Love you mum :)
